Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel French Toast

Was so craving French toast a few weeks ago and figured I'd give my trusty cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread a shot for a healthier version! Turned out to be amazing!! (Especially with just a tiny drizzle of organic 100% pure maple syrup;) ). Whipped up a fresh local peachy plum Greek yogurt smoothie to go with...bliss!!!

Try this super easy recipe for a healthier take on a classic that you'll absolutely love!

4 slices cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread
3/4 cup skim milk or almond milk
1 organic egg
2 teaspoons organic brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1-2 tablespoons organic butter

1. Combine milk, egg, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.  Place each slice of bread in the mixture and flip, so that each is thoroughly soaked.

2. Heat 1/2-1 tablespoon butter on skillet over medium heat.  Once melted, place each slice of soaked bread on the skillet.  Once nicely browned, remove the Ezekiel slices, add some more butter (1/2-1 tablespoon), flip the slices and cook until beautifully browned on the other side.

3. Serve on plates and add a tiny drizzle of organic maple syrup and dig in!

yumm, looks so tsty. I love toasts for breakfast and I think this variation will be a great addition to my daily routine. I think even my morning check of companies reviews could be better if the day starts with the raisings toast and a glass of orange juice.
